Exhibition “Vertical Landscapes”
Dates: Friday 7 to Sunday 23 November 2025
Location: Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi
Landscape photography has long been associated with horizontal compositions, reflecting a visual culture shaped by horizontal formats in art and media, particularly cinema. “Vertical Landscapes” challenges this norm by presenting landscapes through a vertical frame reminiscent of smartphone screens, an indispensable part of modern life. This choice forces viewers to adjust their gaze, focusing on the depth of the scene rather than its breadth. While horizontal compositions evoke calm and stability, vertical framing can instill awe or a sense of confinement.
With the participation of Italian photographer Francesco Chiot, who specializes in infrared photography.
The exhibition will open on Friday 7 November at 7 p.m. and will remain open to the public until Sunday 23 November.

Directed by Matteo Parisini the documentary is a visual and emotional journey through the landscapes that inspired the iconic photographs of Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri, tracing the portrait of a man who was able to capture the subtle beauty of everyday life. With contributions from his closest collaborators, friends and family, the film offers an intimate insight into the profound connections that influenced the artist’s work and vision.
