The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is glad to announce that on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 6:30 PM, Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) will host the screening of the film “The Bad Poet” by Gianluca Jodice.
The movie tells the story of the last years of the life of Gabriele D’Annunzio (played by Sergio Castellitto) and his relationship with Giovanni Comini (Francesco Patanè), a young fascist official in charge of watching over the tired and restless poet to ensure that he does not interfere with Benito Mussolini’s political and military plans. The film, which was nominated for “Best Directorial Debut” at the 2022 David di Donatello Awards and won two Nastri d’Argento for Best Cinematography and Best Costumes, offers an unprecedented portrait of one of the most significant cultural – but also political – figures of 20th-century Italy.
The screening will be in Italian with English subtitles.
The event will conclude with a tasting of Italian food and wines as part of the “Sentiero diVino” initiative, in collaboration with Viet-It Wines and Caffè Italia.
For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance by writing to culturale.hanoi@esteri.it by Friday, March 21.
