From 13 to 19 October, Hanoi will host the 25th Week of Italian Language in the World, dedicated this year to the theme “Italofonia: language beyond borders”. The event, held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, features a rich programme of events and initiatives designed to promote the knowledge and dissemination of Italian in Vietnam, organised in collaboration with the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Hanoi and Uni-Italia Vietnam.
On Monday 13 October, starting at 9:00 a.m., the official opening of the 25th Italian Language Week in the World will take place at the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Hanoi. The ceremony will include remarks by the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Marco della Seta, and the Rector of the University, Nguyen Van Trao. Between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., visitors will also be able to taste Italian food, ice cream and coffee during the gastronomic and cultural fair dedicated to Italy at the University Campus.
The following days will focus on the theme of Italofonia, with activities such as the quiz “Study in Italy – Learning Italian to study abroad” (at Casa Italia and at the High school for Foreign Languages); a lecture on “Italian language in the world: vitality, visibility and teaching” at the University of Hanoi, with guests Professors Carla Bagna and Elisabetta Carli from the University for Foreigners of Siena; and the award ceremonies for the competitions for Best Italian Speaker, Best Guide and Best Interpreter organised by the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Hanoi.
On Thursday 16 October, from 2 p.m., Casa Italia will host – as per tradition – the education fair presenting the academic offerings of Italian universities, “Italian Days on Higher Education – Study in Italy”, during which Vietnamese students interested in pursuing studies in Italy and their parents will be able to obtain valuable information directly from representatives of the participating Italian universities.
The week’s activities will conclude with the musical and theatrical performance “La notte di Passione 2025” (The Night of Passion 2025), staged by students from the University of Hanoi on Thursday evening.
