From today the famous journalist Geronimo Stilton is the protagonist of a special volume dedicated to the beauties of our country, distributed to Italian Embassies, Consulates and Institutes of Culture and browsable on the “italiana” portal.

There is a new stratospheric treasure hunt dedicated to the beauties of Italy. The protagonist is Geronimo Stilton – the journalist most loved by children all over the world, born from an idea of ​​Elisabetta Dami – who from May 26 will explore our country in a new 224-page book: “A Thousand Wonders. A Journey to discover Italy”. A special project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, created by Edizioni Piemme-Mondadori Libri, with the aim of bringing girls and boys from all over the world closer to artistic and cultural wonders of Italy.

Accompanied by his entire family, in “A Thousand Wonders” Geronimo Stilton travels “the boot” to discover cities, villages, stories and landscapes. From Rome to Venice, from the Apennines to the Alps, the friendly reporter visits the most famous monuments and places (including many of the Italian sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List) without forgetting the hidden jewels: lesser known treasures, specialties restaurants, places of scientific research, handicraft and industrial products. An adventure imagined as a real treasure hunt, full of games, curiosities and surprises.

Published in four languages ​​(Italian, French, Spanish, English) in collaboration with Atlantyca Entertainment for international editions, and printed in 16,000 copies, the special edition of “Mille Meraviglie” will be available exclusively in the cultural network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation International: Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes, Schools abroad. The digital version will instead be freely available from today on italiana.esteri.it, the new portal of the Farnesina dedicated to the promotion of culture, creativity and the Italian language. On Italiana, some presentation videos will be available with Lorenzo Angeloni, Director General for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the creator Elisabetta Dami and Geronimo in person, as well as a book trailer and other multimedia material dedicated to the project.

Born in Topazia, the capital of the Isle of Mice, Geronimo Stilton holds a degree in Topology of Ractic Literature and in Comparative Archaeotopic Philosophy. He directs the Eco del Roditore, the most famous newspaper on the Isle of Mice, founded by his grandfather Torquato Travolgiratti. In his spare time, Geronimo collects ancient cheese rinds of the eighteenth century, but above all he loves writing books with exceptional success: published in 51 languages, they have sold 37 million copies in Italy alone, 175 million worldwide!
