In order to promote international cooperation in the academic and cultural fields, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) provides grants to cover travel and accommodation expenses for researchers, lecturers, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators, whether Italian or foreign, invited by Italian or foreign universities or cultural institutions for study or research purposes.
The grant is intended for Italian or foreign individuals residing in Italy for at least two years who are formally invited abroad by foreign universities or cultural institutions, as well as for Italian or foreign individuals residing abroad who are formally invited to Italy by Italian universities or cultural institutions. Please note that the invitation issued by the university or cultural institution cannot be made conditional upon the granting of the MAECI contribution.
The grant consists of a flat-rate daily allowance of €350 per day for stays of up to five days and €250 per day from the sixth to the tenth day, up to a maximum of €3,000 per beneficiary. No grant shall be awarded for stays exceeding ten days.
Interested applicants are invited to submit their application in accordance with the instructions provided in the form attached to this communication by 31 July 2026. The grant is only applicable to missions carried out, or to be carried out, between 1 January and 15 November 2026.
The allocation of grants is subject to the evaluation of the application submitted and will, in any case, be made only until the available funds are exhausted.
