Locandina sito Stranizza d’Amuri

The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is glad to invite you to the screening of the film “Fireworks – Stranizza d’Amuri” by Italian director Giuseppe Fiorello, which will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). The event is part of the “Fare Cinema” festival, organized annually by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of promoting Italian cinema abroad.

Set in 1980s Sicily, the film tells the love story of Gianni and Nino (played by Samuele Segreto and Gabriele Pizzurro, respectively), two young men who must fight against prejudice and obstacles imposed by a society not yet ready to accept them. Loosely inspired by the Giarre murder case and dedicated to the victims, Antonio and Giorgio, the film won a Nastro d’Argento in 2023 for “Best New Director” as well as a Globo d’Oro for “Best First Feature”.

The screening will be in Italian with English subtitles and will be followed by a tasting of Italian food and wine as part of the “Sentiero diVino” initiative, in collaboration with Viet-It Wines and Caffè Italia.

For organizational purposes, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance to culturale.hanoi@esteri.it by Monday, June 16.
