VISIT IN HANOI BY GENERAL DIRECTOR FOR ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL PROMOTION OF ITALIAN MFA, VINCENZO DE LUCA

The General Director for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Min. Plen. Vincenzo De Luca, carried out a mission to Vietnam from September 19th to 23rd.

During his stay in Hanoi he had the opportunity to meet qualified Italian and Vietnamese interlocutors in the entrepreneurial world, with whom he exchanged ideas and projects on the growth of Vietnam and on the investment opportunities of Italian operators. Such
topics were also evoked during his “lectio magistralis” at the Foreign Trade University focused on the strength of Made in Italy strategy (clic here to view the slides).

He also attended the inauguration of the “Turatti” plant and he visited the “Piaggio” factory.

On the cultural front, DG De Luca met the Vice Minister of Culture, Trinh Thi Thuy, with whom he outlined the program of bilateral collaboration for the coming years and signed the Executive Program of Cultural Cooperation for the years 2018-2021 .

Particularly appreciated by DG De Luca, then, was the meeting with numerous Vietnamese students of Italian language coming from the University of Hanoi and from Uni-Italia.

On the scientific front, DG De Luca met the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Bui The Duy, with whom he shared appreciation for the quality of joint research projects currently carried out by Italian and Vietnamese scientific institutions and he outlined the possible sectors to consider for the next three years.

The topical moment of the mission was the inauguration of the 1st Italian Film Festival, organized in collaboration with ANICA within the calendar for the 45th anniversary of the Italian-Vietnam diplomatic relations, and which saw the special participation of the award-winning film director Paolo Genovese and the actor/screenwriter Rolando Ravello. Another opportunity to tighten the bilateral collaboration also in the field of cinema both at an institutional and professional level.
