STARTING OF THE CELEBRATIONS FOR THE 45TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITALY-VIETNAM DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Last weekend the celebrations for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam began under the banner of friendship and cultural encounter.

On Friday, March 16th, a classical concert was held at the Hanoi Youth Theater by 11 talented young musicians awarded with the IBLA Award. A harmonious set of instruments has accompanied the public in an original way through some iconic pieces of Italian and European musical tradition.

In the opening speeches of Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni and of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pham Sanh Chau, the salient stages of the historic Italian-Vietnamese friendship were reviewed and sincere satisfaction was expressed for the results achieved so far and for the ambitious goals of the future.

On the sidelines of the concert the student of the Department of Italian Studies of the Hanoi University, Nguyen Hoang Anh, was awarded for having created the beautiful commemorative logo of the 45th anniversary and the insignia of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy has been bestowed to the designer Minh Hanh, indefatigable animator of the Italian-Vietnamese collaboration in the field of fashion also thanks to the realization of extraordinary events aimed at creating bridges and nurture cultural contaminations.

 

Saturday 17, Sunday 18 and Monday 19 March, thanks to the activism of the Italian-Vietnamese Fashion Council and to the support of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the central Con Coc Square has been transformed into a spectacular setting for fashion shows of the first Italy-Vietnam Fashion Week, with the participation of 18 stylists, including the Italians Michele Gaudiomonte and Riccardo Bianco Levrin.

At the same time, at Casa Italia, center for the promotion of Italian excellence and an ideal meeting place for cultures, the “Silk Weaving Process” exhibition was set up with silkworms, silk spinners, wooden frames and silk products meticulously illustrated by Vietnamese artisans. At the center of this initiative in the field of fashion there was the sustainability of fabrics and production.

 

The theme of sustainability will be the golden thread for numerous other initiatives that the Embassy has foreseen in the celebratory calendar of this 45th anniversary.
