The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is pleased to invite you to a screening of the film “The Great Beauty” by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, which will take place on Friday, 20 March 2026 at 6:00 PM at Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).
The event will take place a few days after the 98th edition of the Academy Awards, the famous “Oscars Night”, and aims to pay tribute to the excellence of contemporary Italian cinema by celebrating one of the most acclaimed Italian films of recent years.
Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2014, “The Great Beauty” tells the story of Jep Gambardella, a successful journalist and writer who, amid glamorous parties and surreal encounters within Rome’s high society, embarks on an inner journey in search of authentic beauty and the deeper meaning of life. Set in a Rome that is both decadent and timeless, the film is considered one of the most representative works of contemporary Italian cinema and has been internationally acclaimed for its extraordinary visual and narrative power.
The screening will be in Italian with English subtitles and will be followed by a convivial moment featuring a tasting of Italian wines and food as part of the “Sentiero diVino” initiative, organized in collaboration with Viet-It Wines and Caffè Italia.
Admission to the event is free of charge, but kindly confirm your participation by writing to culturale.hanoi@esteri.it by Tuesday, 17 March. Registrations will be accepted until all available seats are filled.
