The Embassy of Italy in Vietnam is pleased to present the concert “From Italy with Love”, which will be held on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February at the prestigious Hanoi Opera House in the presence of Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Maria Tripodi.
Organized in collaboration with the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet and the Hanoi Opera House, the concert is the first of a series of initiatives to celebrate this year’s 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam.
The program includes a first part dedicated to the great Italian classical music, with pieces by Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti and Ponchielli performed by the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Fan Ting.
The second part of the concert offers a jazz tribute to Ennio Morricone, with the participation of two renowned Italian artists, saxophonist Enzo Favata and vibraphonist Pasquale Mirra.
The opening evening will see as guest of honor the Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Maria Tripodi, who will be visiting Hanoi in those days to promote Rome’s candidacy to host Expo 2030.
The concert was presented to the press on Saturday 4 February at Casa Italia, in the presence of Ambassador Antonio Alessandro and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture Ta Quang Dong.
As underlined by Ambassador Alessandro, “the extensive program of initiatives for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations contributes significantly to the strengthening of relations between Vietnam and Italy and to the increase in economic and commercial relations“. In expressing satisfaction with the record figure of 6.2 billion dollars of trade achieved in 2022, the Ambassador underlined how the Expo 2030 in Rome would certainly give further impulse to trade and investments between the two countries.
In the coming weeks, the Embassy will announce other initiatives in the fields of design, fashion, dance, cinema and visual arts, such as: the concert of the jazz group Luca Ciarla Trio on February 15 at the Hanoi Conservatory and on February 16 at the Hai Phong Opera House; the presentation on March 17 at Casa Italia of the Ryder Cup Golf 2023 in Rome; the costume opera “Cavalleria Rusticana” on April 15 at the Hanoi Opera House.
