AWARDS FOR TRANSLATION OF BOOKS

We would like to inform you that the General Directorate for Libraries and Cultural Institutes of the Italian Ministry of Culture has published a call for awarding translations. The deadline to submit the application is March 31st, 2018.

The call will assign 10 awards of € 9.500,00 each for translations in Italian language and from Italian into other languages of:

– Literary works (prose or poetry);

– Literary Criticism, Art Criticism, Nonfiction and Scientific Studies;

– Script and Screenplay.

Translators, Publishing Houses or Production Companies may participate in the selection and the Italian citizenship is not a requirement.

Only works published before February 13th, 2018 will be taken into account and will be evaluated.

A committee of experts, set up by a decree of the General Director of Libraries and Cultural Institutes, will evaluate the applications.

The committee will give the priority to translations of Leonardo Da Vinci’s biographies or works related to the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of his death.

Applications must be sent directly to “Ministero dei Beni e delle Attivita’ Culturali e del Turismo – Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali, Via Michele Mercati 4, 00197 Roma” as indicated in the call.
