EUROPE DAYS 2016

From 4th to 10th May Hanoi has seen a variety of events on the occasion of the celebration of Europe Day (May 9th, the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, propulsive of the European integration process).

The Embassy of Italy, representing one of the founding countries of the European Union and considering the cultural policy one of the cornerstones of its promotional activities, provided a varied contribution in three sectors:

– Food: at the reception hosted by the European Union Delegation to Vietnam there was an Italian booth, where there were served some of the most delicious desserts of the culinary tradition of the “boot”;

– Literature: on the wave of the success of last year, Ambassador Piccioni announced the translation into Vietnamese of three new volumes of the Italian series for kids “Ulysses Moore” by P. Baccalario, which will be published in the coming months. A nice video and a lively debate enlivened an afternoon at Casa Italia;

– Music: in continuity line with the theme of last year’s Week of Italian Language in the World (the Italian and music) and in view of the Italian Language Week of next October (the Italian and creativity), the young and talented Italian percussionist Davide Pasqualini joined an original Euro-Vietnamese ensemble that brought two popular jazz concerts at the Hanoi Opera House. Vibrant performances that have consolidated the friendship between the peoples of Europe and that of Vietnam in the very day when Europe celebrated its founding values, such as dialogue, respect and tolerance.
