The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is glad to announce that on Wednesday, 19 June 2024 at 7 PM, Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) will host the event “Corti e Sorsi”. This initiative is part of the “Fare Cinema” film festival, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of promoting Italian cinema abroad.
The event will include the presentation and screening of two of the five finalists for the David di Donatello 2024 in the “Best Short Film” category.
In “Group Photo” by Tommaso Frangini, the protagonist Federico celebrates his birthday in the mountains with his longtime friends. Despite the affection and memories of the many years spent together, Federico is faced with doubts and uncertainties about himself and his friendships.
In “The Meatseller”, the winning title of this year’s edition, Margherita Giusti tells the story of Selinna Ajamikoko, a young Nigerian girl who, in order to realise her dream of becoming a butcher like her mother, embarks on a long and atrocious journey to Italy.
The short films will be screened in Italian with English subtitles. Considering the themes addressed in “The Meatseller”, it is recommended that the film be viewed by adults only.
The screenings will be followed by a small reception as part of the “Sentiero diVino” initiative, organized in collaboration with Viet-It Wines and Caffè Italia.
For logistical reasons, we kindly request that you confirm your participation in the event by writing to culturale.hanoi@esteri.it by Monday, 17 June 2024.
