The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi co-organized with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) the workshop “Youth Empowerment in the Energy Transition: Advanced Insights for Vietnam’s Sustainable Future”.
The workshop took place at the UNDP Mission in Hanoi on 30-31st August 2023. It gathered more than 40 young Vietnamese climate activists and was conducted by UNDP and the young climate leader Mr. Nguyen Tuan. The event was opened by the Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr. Marco della Seta.
During the two-days event, the participants exchanged views on climate change threats and solutions for Vietnam’s sustainable development with experts from UNDP and the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi.
The workshop is part of the educational program “I ACT – Italy&IRENA Action for Climate Toolkit”, promoted by the Italian Government, IRENA and UNDP for young generations and aimed at fostering youth engagement and empowerment for climate action.
The program is divided in two phases: the first phase of I ACT consists in a set of training sessions for more than 250 young climate leaders coming from different countries (including Vietnam). In the second phase of the program, the climate leaders promote educational initiatives for young generations in their countries of origin.
The 30-31 August workshop “Youth Empowerment in the Energy Transition: Advanced Insights for Vietnam’s Sustainable Future” is part of this second phase of the I ACT program.
