Hanoi, 14 September 2022
The Embassy of Italy in Ha Noi is pleased to bring to Viet Nam the “Traviata“, a unique contemporary dance show inspired by the opera of the great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and performed by the world-famous Italian dance company “Artemis Danza”.
Composed in 1853, “La Traviata” narrates the sorrowful love story between the courtesan Violetta and the young nobleman Alfredo. Their unfortunate relationship, thwarted by the powerful family of the man and the chronic disease suffered by Violetta, have inspired
generations around the world, turning Violetta and Alfredo into immortal symbols of love and tragedy.
Artemis Danza presents the story from the point of view of Violetta, with dance expressing the passion, inner war and despair experienced by her.
The shows will be performed in Viet Nam as follows:
19 September, 19:30
Hai Phong Opera House (28 Tran Hung Dao, Hai Phong)
20 September, 19:30
