Italian Research Day in Vietnam 2022
Science and research are an important driver of Italy’s advanced economy. Italy ranks 7th in the world for the number of scientific publications and 8th for the quality of publications (Scimago). The contribution of Italian scientists worldwide and the network of Italy’s international relations in science and technology are essential to these achievements. To mark the importance of science, technology and innovation, on April 15th – the birth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci – Italy celebrates the Italian Research Day in the World.
Research cooperation between Italy and Vietnam dates back to 1992, when the first protocol on scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Vietnam was signed. Since then, more than 40 joint research projects, financed by the Italian and Vietnamese governments, have provided a relevant contribution in many research fields for the wellbeing of our citizens.
This year, the Italian Research Day in Vietnam will be celebrated on April 22ndthrough a Conference on hydrogen technologies for carbon neutrality, jointly organized by the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). This is also one of the activities to celebrate the Vietnam Science & Technology Day (May 18th). The Conference aims at exchanging expertise between Italian and Vietnamese scientists and companies and exploring the potential of hydrogen most innovative technologies in the decarbonisation process.
The conference will take place at the Ministry of Science and Technology in a hybrid format on April 22nd at 14.00. It will be opened by the Director General of International Cooperation Department of MoST, Tran Thi Thy Huong, and the Ambassador of Italy, Antonio Alessandro. The Conference will gather representatives from Vietnamese, Italian and European institutions and companies such as MoST, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Vietnam Electricity, the EU Cluster on Climate, Energy and Mobility, the University of Bologna, ENEA, SNAM, Hera, De Nora and Solid Power.
