The Embassy of Italy is delighted to announce the first cultural event organized in the framework of the celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between Italy and Vietnam. The concert “Melody and Virtuosity of Italian Music” by “I Solisti Veneti” will be performed at the Hanoi Opera House on the 21st of March at 8 p.m. and it is the first of a number of events included in the Program: “Year of Italy in Vietnam” – Y-VIET 2013, managed by the Embassy. The programme aims at bringing closer our two Countries, which agreed in January to become Strategic Partners, in a year which is very special and will mark new perspectives for our bilateral cooperation. The “Year of Italy in Vietnam” will present events in a number of sectors, all of them of great interest for the local audience (music, culture and literature, sports, fashion and technology, design etc.), stressing once again the points of contact existing among our cultures and our peoples.
“I Solisti Veneti” was founded in 1959 by Claudio Scimone who has been conducting them over the past 50 years. With more than 5000 concerts performed in almost 90 countries and over 350 albums realized, they represent the most popular Chamber Orchestra in Italy and abroad.

Arban, as well as pieces composed by Tomaso Albinoni, Giovanni Bottesini, Gaetano Braga and Gioachino Rossini, to make it an unforgettable evening dedicated to the Italian music and culture.
