Cost for a visa and how to pay

The consular fee for initiating the visa application procedure must be paid at the time of submitting the application, exclusively in cash and in Vietnamese Dong (VND).

The amount varies depending on the type of visa requested and is subject to quarterly updates based on the consular exchange rate and the applicable consular fee schedule (fee table link)

Payment is required regardless of the outcome of the visa application.

  • Schengen Visa (Type C) (up to 90 days): € 90
  • Schengen Visa (Type C) (up to 90 days) – reduced fee: € 35
  • Schengen Visa (up to 90 days) – children aged 6–12: € 45
  • Schengen Visa (up to 90 days) – children aged 0–6: free of charge
  • National Visa (Type D) for long-term stays: € 116
  • National Visa (Type D) for study purposes: € 50

For citizens of countries with which the European Union has signed visa facilitation agreements, the visa fee may be reduced. The list of eligible countries can be found on the European Commission website.

If the visa application is submitted through VFS outsourcing services, an additional service fee of € 8 will be charged.

Please note that visa fees are non-refundable in the event of a visa refusal, as the fee covers the administrative processing of the application and not the issuance of the visa itself.

Applicants are also informed that there is no expedited processing fee for visa issuance.
