The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is glad to present the 9th Italian Design Day in Vietnam (IDD). Launched in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, IDD is an annual initiative conceived to promote the history and modernity of Italian design and architecture, share experiences with partners worldwide and encourage the exchange of innovative practices. Since its first edition in 2017, more than a thousand events have been organized as part of the initiative by the network of Italian Embassies, Consulates and Offices of the Italian Trade Agency, with over 500 designers, architects, entrepreneurs, academics and specialized journalists involved.
The theme of 2025 edition is “Inequalities – Design for a Better Life””. The concept reflects the role of modern design as a tool to tackle disparities in contemporary society and to improve daily life of communities.
Moreover, IDD 2025 serves as a launching platform for “Il Salone del Mobile di Milano” (Milan, 8-13 April 2025) and “La Triennale di Milano” exhibition (13 May- 9 November 2025). Established in 1961, the “Salone” represents the largest trade fair of its kind in the world, showcasing the latest innovations in furniture and design. Held since 1923 and recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the “Triennale” is one of the most prominent artistic exhibition dedicated to design in Italy, taking place every three years in Milan.
In Hanoi, the 9th Italian Design Day will be celebrated through a Documentary Screening on La Triennale di Milano, to be held at the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE – 55 Giai Phong, Hai Ba Trung) on 26th March at 09:30 AM. The event is organized in collaboration with La Triennale di Milano, HUCE and The Design Alliance Association of Asia.
