WEEKEND OF ITALIAN CULTURE IN HANOI

The weekend November 19-20 Hanoi was colored in white, red and green for three important cultural events which enshrine the transition – with a musical interlude – from the celebrations for the sixteenth Week of the Italian Language in the World to those for the first Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World. A mix of food, music and culture that enriches the promotional offer of the Italian system in Vietnam and aims at fostering a deeper insight into several aspects of our cultural heritage: food quality and combating counterfeiting; musical virtuosity; study opportunities in Italy and student exchange programs.

Here is the list of events:

1) Italian Food Festival

After the success of last year, the Italian restaurateurs in Hanoi, in cooperation with the Embassy and the Chamber of Commerce Italy-Vietnam, organized a two-day celebration of the true Italian food at the Waterpark of Tay Ho (614 Lac Long Quan). Delicacies of traditional Italian cuisine (not just pizza and pasta), music, cooking contests, kids’ activities and much more.

There was also a meaningful charity lucky draw in favor of the populations affected by the earthquake in Central Italy. First prize of the lottery was a two-way ticket to Italy for 2 persons!

2) European Music Festival

Within the framework of the exciting European Music Festival in Vietnam, Italy has participated with two young musicians: Stefano Senni (double bass) and Simone Zanchini (accordion).

Their virtuosity mixed up with that of the German sax player Angelika Niescier in an original Italian-German trio that performed on November 19th at 20:00 at the Youth Theatre (11 Ngo Thi Nham).

After the success of last March, here is the second edition of the Italian Universities’ Fair in Hanoi, at Casa Italia.

8 Italian universities presented their activities, the didactic offer and the opportunities for students exchange in order to strengthen the cooperation with Vietnamese academia and encourage a real rapprochement between the young people of our countries.
