style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Request for certificate of no impediment for Marriage before Vietnamese Authorities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vietnamese authorities require Italian citizens intending to marry in Vietnam to obtain a <strong>certificate of no impediment to marriage<\/strong> (<em>nulla osta<\/em>), which will be issued by the <strong>Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi<\/strong> for nationals residing in Vietnam and registered with AIRE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <em>nulla osta<\/em> must then be <strong>translated and legalized<\/strong> according to local regulations in order to be legally valid under Vietnamese law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For <strong>Italian citizens not registered with AIRE<\/strong> in the consular district of Hanoi, the <em>nulla osta<\/em> will be issued <strong>only upon presentation of the original certificate of civil status (certificato di stato libero)<\/strong>, issued <strong>no more than 6 months prior<\/strong> by the competent Italian municipality or Italian diplomatic\/consular authority.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Registration in Italy of a Marriage Celebrated Abroad by Italian Citizens<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order for a marriage celebrated abroad to have legal validity in Italy, it must be <strong>registered with the competent Italian municipality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the marriage has been celebrated before Vietnamese authorities and the Vietnamese marriage certificate has been obtained, the following documentation must be submitted to the <strong>Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi<\/strong>, <strong>by appointment only<\/strong> via email at consolare.hanoi@esteri.it:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Certified copy of the Vietnamese marriage certificate, duly <strong>legalized and translated<\/strong> (list of translators);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application form<\/strong> for registration of the marriage certificate in Italy, <strong>duly completed<\/strong> in all its parts;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photocopy of the passports of both spouses<\/strong> (original passports must be presented at the appointment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Registration in Italy can also be carried out by delivering the <strong>certified, legalized, and translated copy<\/strong> of the Vietnamese marriage certificate <strong>directly to the competent Italian municipality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the case of a <strong>choice of separation of property regime<\/strong>, the Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi will draft the related <strong>marital property agreement<\/strong>, which must be signed by both spouses in the presence of <strong>two Italian witnesses<\/strong>, unrelated to the parties and holding a valid passport.<br \/>\nThe presence of <strong>both spouses is required<\/strong> at the appointment for the registration
