The Italian Design Day 2022 in Vietnam

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, 21 March 2022

THE ITALIAN DESIGN DAY 2022 IN VIETNAM

The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi, the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City and the Italian Trade Agency Office in Ho Chi Minh City are glad to present the 6th edition of the Italian Design Day in Vietnam.

The Italian Design Day, launched in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is held in more than 100 cities around the world. Its main purpose is to promote the history and modernity of Italian design, share experiences and ideas with partners worldwide and encourage the exchange of innovative practices and international cooperation.

The theme of this edition is of great importance for our times: “Re-Generation. Design and new technologies for a sustainable future”. Design can help reinventing the habitat and mobility of our cities by combining innovation and culture, technology and sustainability.

This year’s debate will feed the preparation of the candidature of Rome to host the World EXPO 2030, whose proposed title is: “People and territories: Urban regeneration, inclusion and innovation”. For its history, heritage, creativity, its links with culture and science, Rome represents the ideal place to launch a new urban model based on both innovation and sustainability, digital services and green spaces. More info on the official website: https://www.romeexpo2030.com.

IDD 2022 is also a launching platform for “Il Salone del Mobile di Milano”, the Furniture Fair which will take place in Milan on 7-12 June 2022. Established in 1961, the “Salone” represents the largest trade fair of its kind in the world, showcasing the latest innovations in furniture and design from several countries. It is the leading venue for the display of new products by designers of furniture, lighting and other home furnishings.

Design is also one of the areas highlighted by the social media campaign “Italy is simply extraordinary: beIT”, currently taking place in 26 countries, including Vietnam. More information on the official landing page (also available in Vietnamese): https://madeinitaly.gov.it/vi/be-it/ .
