Cooperation Agreement

Scientific cooperation between Vietnam and Italy is defined by the bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement signed in Hanoi on 5 January 1992, which entered into force on 10 May 1998. On 1 July 2020, the seventh Executive Program for Scientific and Technological Cooperation 2021-2023 was signed in Hanoi. The program should have started in 2020, but due to the COVID 19 pandemic its launch has been postponed to January 1, 2021. The Executive Program provides for financial support from MAECI and MOST to 8 research projects. Another 3 projects were selected but did not receive financial support due to budget constraints. Project proposers were encouraged to seek financial support from other sources. The selected projects cover the following priority research areas: Agriculture and Food Science; Biotechnology and Medicine; Environment and climate change; Information and Communication Technologies; Advanced Materials Technology; Industry 4.0; Technologies applied to conservation and restoration of Natural and Cultural Heritage.
