71st NATIONAL DAY OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC IN HANOI

This year, too, the celebrations for the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic were held according to the golden thread of intercultural cooperation: art, tradition, architecture, fashion, food&wine and technology.

 

On May 27 and 28, at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Embassy and the Italian community participated in the Children’s Day by organizing numerous activities aimed at spreading vairous aspects of our culture, enabling its encounter with the Vietnamese one and those of other ASEAN countries: costumes, gastronomy, music, art. A funny way to involve the children and put them in contact with the Italian culture.

 

On June 1, at the Department of Italian Studies at the Hanoi University, the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association and the students of the Department animated a celebration specially devoted to the formation of the youngest, to the recalling of the fundamental values ​​of our Republic and to the strength of Italian-Vietnamese bilateral relations that find continued feeding thanks to the growth of cooperation in every field.

 

On June 2, preceded by a press conference, at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi, with the presence of Vice Minister of Culture Huynh Vinh Ai, there was the inauguration of the innovative exhibition “Raffaello: opera omnia” created by RaiCom, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, made possible thanks to the contribution of partners and sponsors such as the Marche Region, Ariston, Generali, Ghella, Hung Yen, Piaggio and UniCredit.
The best of Raffaello’s pictorial production (35 artworks iconic of the 3 main moments of the artist’s life) combined with the best of Italian technology aimed at offering to visitors a path of emotions at 360 degrees, enriched by some products of our food and wine tradition thanks to the dishes prepared by the Italian restaurateurs of Hanoi and the wines offered by the Marche Region.

During the evening, a spectacular performance of the “Historic Group of Flag-throwers and Crossbowmen” from Volterra (Tuscany) helped the guests to properly enter in the Renaissance atmosphere.

At the same time, a celebration focused on fashion took place in Ho Chi Minh City with an exclusive show featuring Italian clothes.

 

On June 3, for the first time since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam, the Anniversary of the Italian Republic was also celebrated in Danang, the main city in the center of the country and a growing commercial and cultural reality.

The celebrations included a conference on the preservation of the artistic heritage at the Museum of Cham Sculpture, in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of the Marche, and the participation at the local International Festival with the performance of the “Historical Group of Flag throwers and crossbowmen of Volterra” and the fireworks of the Martarello team. The latter has acceded the final against Australia and the UK. The show will take place on Saturday, June 24th along Han river.
