The Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Office in Hanoi, Mr. Riccardo Mattei recently participated to the signing ceremonies of two Memorandum of Understanding regarding a regional program funded, by the Italian Government and implemented by IOM, to prevent human trafficking between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
The project, strongly supported by Italy, aims at offering direct assistance to victims of trafficking, especially children, at training the operators, and at mitigating the vulnerability to traffic of families at risk.
It will focus on the road that connects Cambodia to Vietnam, a corridor where several Special Economic Zones are concentrated and which thus attract migrant workers from nearby provinces.
