Since 2015 there is a new internship program at Italian diplomatic missions abroad on the basis of article 18, paragraph 4, of Law Decree n. 7 of 2015.
The conduct of the stages is framed within the activities for the promotion of the Italian candidature to the UN Security Council. Implementing this provision, the Italian MFA, the Ministry of Education and the CRUI Foundation signed last 11 June a Convention that will allow students attending degree courses aimed at entering the diplomatic service to make internships abroad. Each internship lasts three months and is carried out at the Embassies and Permanent Representations to the International Organizations. For each selected student a refund of 400 Euros per month is paid, half of which are borne by the belonging University and half by the host office. In case the diplomatic mission has the possibility of offering a free accommodation, reimbursement expenses will amount to 200 euro monthly.
The selection of candidates is organized by the universities participating in the program, in collaboration with the CRUI Foundation and the MFA. Students who meet the requirements set out in the Convention can apply through the special web portal prepared by the CRUI Foundation.
For more information about the terms of participation, the timing of the selection and the participating universities, we invite the interested parties to visit the website of the CRUI Foundation which will be published on notice.
The aforementioned Article 18, paragraph 4, of Law Decree n. 7 of 2015 has extended to entities under Law 948/1982 the possibility to propose placements abroad. In this framework similar agreements have been signed with SIOI and with ISPI that allow their most deserving students to do an internship at the Embassies and Permanent Representations, as part of activities for the promotion of the Italian candidature to the Council UN Security.
